“It Has to Be You”

I think the title of this song is not translated perfectly (should be “If it’s not you, it’s not okay,” or something to that effect) but anyway, I watched the MV for it the first time tonight and I am tingled with excitement. Like I said before, I never anticipated to watch “Cinderella’s Sister” but now that I have and am backtracking through all the preliminary promo stuff I’m coming across all these goodies.

I’m really curious if this MV acts as a supplement to the drama, but not actually part of the drama, because the scenes look like they’re an alternate universe version of the canon that we have now. (Didja like all the fandom fic terminology I just whipped at ya?)

More observations after the jump because I don’t want to spoil anyone.

In the MV, we have Eun Jo with long hair, Hyo Sun as she appeared at the end of episode 4, Taecyeon as Jung Woo, and a spiffy as hell looking Ki Hoon.

So now I’m confused. If this MV is indeed just a compilation of all the future scenes we haven’t seen yet, I’m trying to figure out the time line.

Eun Jo has long hair, which doesn’t correspond to the short hair she had after our 8 year time jump. But Seo Woo looks like an older, more sophisticated version of her high school self, so there is a time jump. Does that mean we’re getting another time jump after that? Because when we see Eun Jo at the end of episode 4, she’s transitioned gracefully into a working adult with no traces of her earlier darker self.

The shooting style of the MV just also looks really slick and MV-like, which is why I’m suspicious of whether or not we actually have these scenes in the drama down the road.

Mmmm, speculation — this is how you tell you’re too invested in a drama. :)

apparently pretty much all of that MV is Lies. :(( so taec won’t be all bamf on a motorcycle (preview for ep 5, someone pointed out when he was going after her it seemed like his foot was lame/bow-legged.. so no baseball? no motorbike?), also no backward hug.. :|

Damn, what a tease. I don’t know how netizens spotted so much in the shooooooooort short preview we were shown in that ep, but I’ll take your word for it haha.

it is said that the MV has nothing to do with the actual storyline but even if it does, i think none of us could tell for now. it will be a surprise. as i said before, with this drama, i don’t even bother expecting what to happen next cos’ it’s fun to just go along and enjoy every single scene of it. and that’s exactly why ep. 4 left me crying (i was like “whoaa” to myself) when the unexpected happen towards the end.

hmm. i liked the scenes in the mv because i liked/hated that both guys go after eunjo… i liked it because that left no one for hyosun (i hope she gets whacked by mario hammer soon), but i hated it because it’s so unrealistic. honestly, irl no one falls for the cynical, bitter, and angry girls, especially not two super-hot guys. and backhug? really? waaaay overused.
