FW 2010 shows, part one

It’s that time of year again!

DKNY

DKNY is becoming a consistent favorite of mine. Sure it’s the more “commercial” line (as compared to its parent line, Donna Karan), but at the end of the day, I like lines full of pieces that I can wear. The shows are also styled very nicely, and I love that the show always sticks to a color palette, which appeals to me.

Shows that have disappointed: Rag & Bone (whyyyyyy oh whyyyy), Alexander Wang, Peter Som (!! this is so hideous), Band of Outsiders. I keep expecting Alexander Wang to blow me away with his clothes because there isn’t a contemporary designer I can think of who is as well loved as Alex Wang but I’ve disliked every single season he’s ever put out. Sad day.

agreed with the Peter Som comment *shudders*
I find Alexander Wang becoming increasingly overrated with every season…which is kinda sad because I used to like him

I found Rag and Bone quite disappointing compared to previous seasons – but i liked some of the styling of a couple of looks

What did you think of MJ? such a departure from the previous seasons

Band of Outsiders comes off as extremely hipster-ish. That’s the feeling I got from their look book, anyway. Eh!

i really need to learn more about fashion. i am BLOWN AWAY by some of these outfits (particularly these two that i will somehow have in my closet) and wished i could keep track of fashion shows more consistently. i seriously need to update my wardrobe and i would dance for some of these pieces. love love love!
