This is one of those SM songs where I’m still surprised I haven’t found any loopholes to — meaning it’s not a cover, it wasn’t first produced by someone and then sold to SM, and yet it’s still so good . . . I’m weary only because SM has a history of making a ton of shitty music. :D

Some of their music is unashamedly horrific but I think they have been improving since late 2008, for the better. DBSK’s 3rd had some forever-keepers (You’re My Melody <3_<3), SHINee's 1st was VERY GOOD (In My Room <3_<3) and Suju's album was "TT_TT thank you SM for finally doing something you should have done a long time ago." SNSD's has also been alright, though I prefer Tell Me Your Wish over Gee (minus that very weird giggling during the intro, outro and dance-tro).
Though they totally went on a spending spree buying all that pre-made music (how could you do that to SHINee? TT_TT) hopefully they will go back to you know… not being so cover-song happy.
In My Arms is definitely one of my favourite SM songs in general ^_^ Can't wait for SJ-M's comeback :) Listening to some of their past stuff just makes me more excited. Then I force myself to stop having high expectations… =_= like you said, their track record isn't so stellar =_=
