Shoo-be-doo-be-doo

Yaaa~

I always find the shadiest ways/shadiest parts of the day to rediscover my appreciation for DBSK. So I was sitting in my room in the dark getting ready to shut my computer off and go to bed when I randomly decided I really needed to clear up my desktop. I did do that and then I randomly came across this forgotten episode of a show I downloaded because DBSK was on it during their fourth album promotion. I randomly skimmed across the episode and then came across them doing this acappella.

And they are still as gloriously good as I always remembered them being.

DBSK acappellas are a bright spot in my memories of the gone days of my fangirling because there are so few Kpop acts who do this. Acappella is really *their* thing. Everyone in the biz is really obsessed with having “good vocals” and “power dances” but acappella is totally an art that no company in Kpop is really focusing on, so it’s nice to know that these guys still regard acappella as an important part of their set lists. I also got into DBSK in general through an acappella of theirs, so I’m a bit biased.

Most importantly, I just like it in general when certain performances still bring me back to that place where I gave all my attention to DBSK. Isn’t that the same for everyone? The magical feeling when you rediscover those embarrassing nerdy things in your life that made you you but you’ll never tell anyone else because it takes too many words to have to describe why exactly you love it so much, and all you really want to do is appreciate entity X, Y, or Z in your own peaceful way. I think it would be a lie to say that a boy band puts the swagga behind my step or that Junsu’s voice has made me appreciate sea creatures (like dolphins), but a lot of my experiences branched out from going OMGFLAIL over DBSK (like getting into Kpop and then working on Seoulbeats!) and I wouldn’t trade that for anything.

Besides, my second year “anniversary” of “getting” into DBSK just passed a few days ago. I definitely don’t have enough energy to keep up with 80% of what they do anymore, but I still thump my chest every time I see the boys doing well. And what with the possible/maybe/probable split from SM, I do like to retreat back to the more glorious days. This whole fight thing wouldn’t bother me as much if Yunho and Changmin were also part of the negotiations, but they’re not. Yes I know they have other projects. But honest to god, I think Yunho’s gonna suck in his drama project and Changmin will suck too, but not as much. Yunho blew in his banjun dramas and Changmin did too. And I will say “bullshit!” to anyone who is saying “well he could have gotten better.” No he did not. You know how I know? BECAUSE HE DID NO ACTING FROM THEN (stage 1 of sucking) TIL NOW (continuation of stage 1 of sucking).

So my point is that this would come off better if it were DBSK as a group fighting SM’s contract. I honestly don’t know why they aren’t. In big public incidents like this, it makes an argument look weaker when only a part of the crew is fighting against the big man. It indicates either to me that Yunho/Changmin got preferential treatment, or they had internal disagreements about how to proceed with this whole thing and eventually Y/C realized they didn’t agree with the rest of the group. Which sucks because I…kind of like them together as a group. :(

Your last paragraph pretty much sums up my thoughts on the issue. It just makes me feel really uncomfortable knowing that Yunho and Changmin aren’t involved in this lawsuit. WHY?!?!
