I like fanfiction. A lot. It gives me a lot of room to explore the possibility between the characters and pairing choices. The only problem I have is finding decent fiction. There always seems to be a ton of bad fics for every good fic.

You made me curious about this fic though, so I’ll definitely be checking it out later. :D

Oh, I used to read tons of fanfiction on fanfiction.net, and I still do from time to time. But like what the first commenter said, about 98% of it is crap. But when you do stumble on the odd diamond in the rough, it is an absolute joy to read. And I must say the Harry Potter fandom has some of the more imaginative and well-versed fanfiction writers due to the fact that it has one of, it not, the largest fandoms on the net.

In relation to HP, I have to say that Draco has been one of the most fascinating characters to come out of the series. Perhaps that’s why most of my favourite HP fanfiction have him as the main character. Maybe it’s due to the fact that he’s not a main character in the books and therefore fanfiction writers have more leverage over his “personality” in stories while still allowing him to remain in canon.

Re Kpop fanfiction. I stay away. Unlike with fiction where the personalities and motives of characters can be extracted, there is absolutely no way you can do that with the members of DBSK/SuJu/Shinee. I like my fanfiction to stay in canon, and you can’t do that with real people who you’ve never met. Though I sometimes enjoy the banners/graphics that Soompi fanfic writers create for their stories ;-)

i don’t have the patience to read most of what soompiers have to say, let alone their fanfiction. i don’t follow hp but i’ve heard so often about great hp fics out there. maybe hp breeds imaginative writers with excellent diction because most fics i’ve read kpop/etc have been absolutely atrocious…

the only truly HORRIBLE fanfiction i’ve ever seen was stuff from soompi. actually, i should talk about fanfic in terms of fandom. i’ve never liked any fanfic that came from kpop and the majority of what i read was hp. i know a lot of great hp fic writers so i could never really leave it, even if i tried… :P

my issue with most fanfiction (95%+) is that it is so badly written. i don’t want to say flawed because it’s not meant to be the original work but a spin-off but even so, things don’t tie and you’re just left with a sour taste in your mouth. of course, running into fanfiction gems always makes anyone’s day.

He misses the big things – like the sky, and the people, and the sun. But he also misses the little things, like the sound of rain against the pavement, and the moisture rings from cold drinks.
